Please ensure you have read the Terms of Reference below which outlines all positions and their requirements to ensure you meet the requirements for the role(s) you are interested in. Successful candidates for election will be notified by the current president before our next AGM at which time further instruction will be given.

Terms of Reference

Eligibility Guidelines: 

-        Applicants MUST be between the age of 18-35 to apply for a position on our executive team.

-        Must be Muslim by faith.

-        You must be willing to serve with MOSAIC for at least 2 years, max 4 years.

-        Must be willing to commit to at least 10 hours/month to their role on the board.

-        Must be enthusiastic and ready to bring fresh ideas to the organization.

-        Have strong communication skills & developed leadership abilities.

Short Job Descriptions of Open Positions:

1. Vice President:

Shall provide leadership, general management and supervision alongside with the president to ensure that all operations of the organization are met.

2. Director of Social Media & Marketing:

Will be responsible for projecting the image of the organization to the outside world; create and maintain the website www.volunteermosaic.ca, Instagram (@mosaicvolunteers) and Facebook (@volunteermosaic).

3. Director of Councils:

Will be responsible for organizing the structure of all 6 councils (Junior High, High School, Post-Secondary, Young-Adults, Men’s and Ladies). Each council head will be reporting to the director of councils. All council heads will be appointed by the director of councils after discussion with the executive board. 

4. Director of Volunteer Affairs: 

Shall coordinate all events and prepare a detailed report following the activity. He/she should keep track of past events and make recommendations for the future events to the general body. He/she will also assist the director of communications in organizing and planning a new project and to help in recruiting volunteers for this purpose.  

5. Director of Events:

Will be responsible for keeping track of volunteer hours, issue awards and certificates to all volunteers who have contributed hours in any shape or form. He/she will be responsible for arranging events for the organization such as fundraisers, social events, awards night, etc.
